According to Holly Maddox, Delta Fair Board member and Chairman of the contest, the new category will allow fair visitors to vote each evening, 6 p. m. until 8 p. m., Tuesday through Friday, for their favorite picture.
A fee of $1 per vote will be charged, with all proceeds going to the Delta Children's Home.
The winner will be announced on Saturday, Sept. 27 and will receive a large trophy and ribbon.
"We hope everyone will come out and support our new award by casting their vote for their favorite pictures," Maddox said.
"Send your family and friends to vote for your favorite picture and lets send the Delta Children's Home a lot of money."
This years cochairman for the contest is Charolette Hicks.
All entries will be accepted from 1 p. m. until 5 p .m. on Sunday Sept. 20, and from 3 p. m. until 5 p. m. on Monday, Sept. 21.
Entries must be a 5 x 7 and no larger than an 8 x 10, the frame should be no larger than one inch and should not have a mat.
Pictures can be professional or amateur. In order to compete, the age limits are birth to 5 years of age and must have been taken within the last year.
As in past years, there will be a Best of Show category for twins, girls and boys with each receiving trophies. There will also be first, second, third, and honorable mention ribbons for each category.
