Joseph Sidney Duthu Sr., 80, of Malden, Mo., died Sunday, Aug. 31, 2008, at his residence.
Born Feb. 12, 1928, in Houma, La., son of the late Luke and Rosa Fazzio Duthu, he was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Malden.
On May 19, 1980, in Parma, Mo., he married Beulah Bryant Neal, who preceded him in death on March 26, 2002.
Survivors include four sons, L.J. Duthu, of Gray, La., Joseph Duthu Jr., of Houma, Michael Duthu, of Sunset, La., and Earl Duthu, of Chauvin, La.; two daughters, Kathy, of Houma and Kattie DeHart, of Montegut, La.; two step-sons, Robin Neal, of Malden and Roland Neal, of Luling, La.; one step-daughter, Billie Neal, of Malden; five brothers, Emile Duthu, of Mobile, Ala., and Raymond, Claude Sr., Houston and Myron Duthu, all of Houma; five sisters, Mae Smith, Nora Fitch, Rosemary Christian and Rita Dion, all Houma, and Lillie Brunet, of Dulac, La.; 20 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will begin at 6 p.m., Friday, Sept. 5, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home in Malden.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 6, at the First Assembly of God Church in Malden with the Rev. James Bolin officiating.
Burial will follow in the Rosewood Cemetery at Malden.
