Rev. James Marler, 86, of Park Hills, Mo., died Sunday, Aug. 10, 2008, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Mo.

Born Feb. 13, 1922, in Magness, Ark., son of the late Rev. R.W. and Mary Marler, he was a veteran, having served during WWII. He received his bachelor degree in theology and was a preacher at churches in Missouri and Arkansas.

Survivors include one son, Tim Marler and wife, Cindy, of New Braunfel, Texas; two daughters, Deborah Curlin and husband, John, of Terre Du Lac and Robin Sutton and husband, Ed, of Mitchell; 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Thurma Mae Marler and one daughter, Patricia McDonald.James Marler
