Paul Presley

Paul J. Presley, 86, of Kennett, died Monday, Aug. 25, 2008, at John J. Pershing VA Hospital in Poplar Bluff, Mo.

Born April 30, 1922, in Kennett, son of the late Lillian Presley, he was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in WWII, and a farmer.

On April 4, 1945, in New Madrid, Mo., he married Virginia Frances Hearren, who preceded him in death on Sept. 18, 1999. He was also preceded in death by one granddaughter, Tessy Hamlett.

Survivors include three sons, Paul Presley and wife, Peggy, of Poplar Bluff, Jerry Presley, of Kennett and Glenn L. Presley, of Hazelwood, Mo.; two daughters, Barbara Hamlett and husband, James, of Malden, Mo., and Patricia M. Presley, of Kennett; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Visitation will begin at 6 p.m., today, Thursday, Aug. 28, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home in Malden.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, Aug. 29, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. James Hamlett officiating.

Burial with military rites will follow in the Rosewood Cemetery at Malden.
