Funeral services for Mary Christine Baker of Mountain Home, Ark., will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, Aug. 28, 2008 at East Side Baptist Church in Mountain Home with Dr. Mike Shy officiating. Graveside services will follow at 4 p.m., in the Memorial Gardens Cemetery at Kennett. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 27 at the Kirby & Family Funeral Home.
Mary Baker died Monday, Aug. 25, 2008 in Mountain Home at the age of 75. She was born Monday, April 3, 1933 in Corinth, Miss., the daughter of Raymond and Dora Pittman Butler. She married Charles S. Baker on January 13, 1950 at Kennett, and was a homemaker. Mary lived in Mountain Home since 1990 moving from Bellville, Ill. She was a member of Gideons International Auxiliary and was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a seamstress and had a love for music.
Mary Baker is survived by her husband, Charles S. Baker, of Mountain Home, Ark.; son, Steven (Linda) Baker, of Edmond, Okla.; 2 daughters, Cathy (Tommy) Nuckols, (formerly of Mountain Home) of Corpus Christi, Texas and Sarah (Gary) Gann, of Jonesboro, Ark.; four brothers, Alton (Nell) Butler, of Pensacola, Fla., Garland Butler, of Portageville, Mo., Charles (Donna) Butler, of Harrison, Ark., and Jimmy (JoAnn) Butler, of North Little Rock, Ark.; two sisters, Viola Bruce, of Jacksonville, Ark., and Martha (Gene) Beal, of Conway, Ark.; seven grandchildren, Tom (Michelle) Baker, David (Jamie) Baker, Jeff (Kristen) Nuckols, Adam (Lacy) Nuckols, Michelle (Timmy) Blaylock, Jared and Julie Gann and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and two sisters.
Burial will be in the Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Kennett with Tom and David Baker, Jeff and Adam Nuckols, Jared and Julie Gann and Michelle Blaylock as pallbearers .
Memorials may be made to the Hospice of the Ozarks, Gideons International or East Side Baptist Church.
