Frankie M. Hill, 83, of Hayti, Mo., died Sunday, Aug. 17, 2008, at Cape Girardeau, Mo.

Born Oct. 25, 1924, in Osceola, Ark., daughter of the late J.C. and Mary Jane Fowlkes, she was employed at the Pemiscot Memorial Hospital in Hayti and was a member of Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church in Hayti.

On Aug. 1, 1953, she married Moses Hill, who preceded her in death on Dec. 13, 1996. She was also preceded in death by one sister, Erma Hawkins; one brother, Vernell Williams and one granddaughter, Jacqueline Denise Johnson.

Survivors include one daughter, Janis Johnson and husband, Charles, of Merietta, Ga.; two sisters, Rachel Thompson and Katie Summers, both of Osceola and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held at noon Saturday, Aug. 23, at the Cedar Street Baptist Church in Hayti with the Rev. Tony Jefferson Jr. officiating.

Burial was in the Evergreen Cemetery at Hayti.

Pallbearers were Mt. Olive deacons and friends.

John W. German Funeral Home of Hayti was in charge of arrangements.
