On Aug. 9, 2008, 150 soldiers from the 3rd Sustainment Brigade, including Senath, Mo., native Sgt. Jason Brady Williams, arrived at Cottrell Field in Fort Stewart, Ga., as the brigade continued its redeployment from Iraq.

Williams returned after a 15-month deployment to northern Iraq where his brigade, who was in charge of security for convoy and movement, provided logistics support for the 25th Infantry and 1st Armor Division units.

This latest deployment was Williams' second tour in Iraq, upon which he received the bronze star medal for enemy action, a combat action badge for engaging the enemy in combat, a certificate of achievement for hard work and dedication to excellence, as well as other coins.

During Williams' latest tour, he made several convoy missions in Iraq and also served as a member of the Personal Security Team for the base commander.

Of all his awards and accomplishments, Williams is most proud of his unit returning home with zero casualties.

Williams is currently living in Hinesville, Ga. with his wife Mandy, but has plans on returning to the area in November.

When asked about his feelings on Iraq, Williams stated, "I'm just glad to be back."

Welcome home Jason. I didn't know you were back in the box this time. I ran into Jeremy Lindsey when I was over there last year. Whats the chance of that?

Look me up sometime when you get home. I work with Melissa so I won't be hard to find.
