Venburn "Petie" Stirnaman, 88, of Kennett, died Sunday, Aug. 10, 2008, at National HealthCare in Kennett.
Born March 31, 1920, in Dell, Ark., daughter of the late Bob Morris and Pearl Brandon Cox, she was a member of the Slicer Street Church of Christ and Dorcas Ladies.
On Nov. 21, 1942, she married Paul Stirnaman, who preceded her in death on Jan. 31, 1993. She was also preceded in death by two sons, Paul H. Stirnaman , Jr., and Larry A., Stirnaman; four brothers, Van, V.C., and Bob Morris and Charles Cox and three sisters, Valice Burnett, Vernon Farless and Faye Colder.
Survivors include two sons, Jerry Stirnaman and wife, Pennie, of Dexter, Mo., and Glen Stirnaman and wife, Dianah, of Kennett; one daughter, Teresa McNair and husband, Sydney, of Knoxville, Tenn.; one brother, Bill Cox, of Bloomfield, Mo.; two sisters, Shirley Davis, of Florida and Katie Joliff, of Tyler, Texas; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Aug. 12, in the Memorial Gardens Cemetery at Kennett with Spencer Furby officiating.
Pallbearers were members of Slicer Street Church of Christ.
Memorials may be made to the Slicer Street Church of Christ in Kennett.
McDaniel Funeral Home of Kennett was in charge of arrangements.
