Alma Esther White, 90, of Paragould, Ark., died Saturday, Aug. 2, 2008, at the Senath Nursing Home in Senath, Mo.
Born to the late James and Nancy Beaton Stephens in Lafe, Ark., she was a homemaker and a member of Ramers Chapel Methodist Church.
Survivors include three daughters, Kay Carter and husband, Johnny, of Paragould, Melba Wheeler, of St. Peters, Mo., and Christene Holt and husband, Waymon, of Milligan Ridge; three sisters, Loretta Smith and husband, Charles "Buddy", of Paragould, Velma Smith and husband, Gerald, of Marmaduke, Ark., and Catherine Gerdes, of Jonesboro, Ark.; two brothers, Thelbert Stephens and wife, Vi, and Eugene Stephens and wife, Peggy, all of Paragould; six grandchildren: Shane Carter, of Paragould, Ronald Holt, of Caraway, Ark., Donald Holt, of Lake City, Ark., Carla Rabon, of O'Fallon, Mo., and Crista and Rick Wheeler, both of St. Peters, nine great-grandchildren and eight great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Loyd Willford White; two brothers, Vernon and James "Ras" Stephens; three sisters, Arlene Ragle, Wanda Hardin and Iva Jamison and a son-in-law, Carl Wheeler.
Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m., today, Tuesday, Aug. 5, at Heath Colonial Chapel in Paragould with Revs. Waymon Holt and Eddie Gene Wright officiating.
Burial was in the Providence Cemetery.
