Born April 16, 1937, in Clarkton, son of the late William Louis and Mary Elizabeth Carmen Provance, he was a farmer and served as sexton of Mt. Gilead Cemetery. He was of the Baptist faith.
On Nov. 10, 1956, in Pontiac, Mich., he married Patricia Ellen Aspenwall, who survives.
Survivors also include two daughters, Elizabeth Ann Rains, of Seymour, Mo., and Deborah Lynn Cook and husband, Steve, of Malden, Mo.; one son, Charles Kenneth Provance Jr., and wife, Pat, of Clarkton; two brothers, William Provance, of Clarkton and Tom Provance, of Campbell, Mo.; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Mary Ann McMillian.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., today, Wednesday, July 23, at the Landess Funeral Home in Malden.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, July 24, at the Landess Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. David Wigger officiating.
Burial will follow in the Mt. Gilead Cemetery at Clarkton.
