Jack Meadows Downing

Jack Meadows Downing, 72, of California, formerly of Caruthersville, Mo., died June 22, 2008.

Born Jan. 24, 1936, in Caruthersville, son of Doris Meadows Downing, he was a 1954 graduate of Caruthersville High School and Michigan State University and was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in Korea. Hew as employed as assistant manager at the Congressional Country Club in Washington, D.C., and the manager of Hacienda Golf Club in La Habra Heights and Santa Anna Country Club.

Survivors include one sister, Nadine Downing.

Memorial services were held Tuesday, July 1, at the Crystal Cathedral in Los Angeles, Calif.
