Bobby Ray Thomas, 77, of Leachville, Ark., died Saturday, July 19, 2008, at Methodist University Hospital in Memphis, Tenn.

Born in the Silverdale Community, near Arbyrd, Mo., son of the late Dennis Alexander and Madge Layne Thomas, he was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in the Korean War. He owned and operated several grocery stores and restaurants in Leachville and was a member of the First Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Anna Beth Malloy Thomas, of Leachville; one daughter, Candice Denny and husband, Larry, of Leachville; one brother, Dennis Thomas and wife, Linda, of Arbyrd; two sisters, Jo Nell Malloy and husband, Doc, of Leachville and Bette Carroll and husband, Raymond, of Senath, Mo.; two grandchildren, Amanda McFall, of Leachville and Blake Denny, of Bay, Ark., and three great-grandchildren, Andrew, Brady and Sophia McFall.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Billy Wayne Thomas.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., today, Tuesday, July 22, at the First Baptist Church in Leachville with the Rev. Rudy Davis officiating.

Burial was in the Leachville Cemetery.

Howard Funeral Service of Leachville was in charge of arrangements.
