Born July 12, 1922, at Pueblo, Colo., he was the son of the late Rowland Famous and Pansy Cobble Jackson. He was a retired U.S. Air Force veteran who served in World War II, the Korean Conflict, and Vietnam. He was of the Presbyterian faith and a member of the Masonic Lodge.
On Feb. 4, 1951, he married Sarah Jean Aberman at Niles, Mich., who survives.
Other survivors include one daughter, Margaret Ayars and husband David, of Yucaipa, Calif.; one grandson, Nicholas Ayars of San Diego, Calif.; three brothers, James Jackson of Corpus Christi, Texas, Phil Jackson of McDonough, Calif., and Donald Jackson of Adairsville, Ga.
One brother, David Jackson, preceded him in death.
There will be no visitation.
The memorial service will be at the graveside at 10 a.m., Friday, July 11, 2008 with military rites and with the Rev. Paul Moore officiating.
Burial will be at the Horner Cemetery.
