Verbie Liddie Meadows, 90, of Clarkton, Mo., formerly of Risco, died Friday, July 4, 2008, at Golden Living Center in Clarkton.
Born May 28, 1918, in Corning, Ark., daughter of the late Grover Cleveland Hatchett and Katherine Elizabeth Nidever Meadows, she was a homemaker.
On May 27, 1933, in Peach Orchard, Ark., she married Orland Columbus Meadows, who preceded her in death on Aug. 18, 1976.
She was also preceded in death by two daughters, Arlene Moreland and Sharon Metcalf, and five sons, Albert, Terry, Orland, Tommy and James Henry Meadows.
Survivors include five daughters, Mary Young of Bakersfield, Cali., Doris Atkins of Kokomo, Ind., Barbara Maxwell and husband, L.G., of Risco, Mildred Bearden and husband, Ray, of Boron, Cali., and Beverly Morgan and husband, Richard, of Clarkton; three sons, Bill Meadows and wife, Sharon, of Campbell, Mo., Paul Meadows and wife, Marilyn, of Risco, and Jerry Meadows of Gideon; one sister, Reda Brown, of Malden; 34 grandchildren, 57 great-grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren.
Visitation is from 6 p.m. till 9 p.m., today, Tuesday, July 8, 2008, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home in Malden, Mo.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m., Wednesday, July 9, 2008, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home Chapel in Malden, with the Rev. Vernon Self officiating.
Burial will be in the Stanfield Cemetery at Clarkton.
