Crash kills one, severely injures another

SENATH, Mo -- One driver was killed and another flown out by Medic One following a head-on collision on Highway 412 between Senath and Cardwell.

At approximately 3 p.m. on Thursday, July 3, 2008, authorities including the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Dunklin County Sherriff's Department, Kennett Fire Department, Kennett Medic One, Senath Fire and Rescue, and Cardwell Fire and Rescue responded to a head-on collision on Highway 412 just south of Senath.

All of the details surrounding the accident are unknown at this time; however, authorities believe the driver of the white Chrysler Minivan crossed the median and collided head-on with the green Ford Explorer.

The driver of the minivan was flown to the Memphis Med and the driver of the Explorer was dead at the scene. Both drivers had to be extracted from their vehicles.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol is in charge of the investigation.
