Born March 25, 1934 in Morehouse, Mo., Frank was the only child of Woodrow W. and Lorene C. Proctor, who preceded him in death. Frank had owned his own business after working in sales for several food and lodging companies, including Holiday Inn. He had also been a teacher and basketball coach in Missouri after his discharge from the U.S. Army.
Frank graduated from Arkansas State University in 1956 where he starred on the varsity basketball team.
Survivors include his wife, Kathy Coldren Proctor; four sons, Phil Proctor of Franklin, Tenn., Pat Proctor of Nashville, Tenn., Peri Proctor of Boca Raton, Fla. and Parker Proctor of Knoxville, Tenn.; and nine grandchildren.
Frank always had a hearty hello and a big smile for everyone. He enjoyed all sports but had a particular love for basketball and football. The only things he loved more than sports were his sons and grandchildren. He was so very proud of them.
A memorial service honoring Frank was held at 11 a.m., Monday in the Chapel of West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville with Rev. J.P. Branham officiating.
The family received friends from 10 a.m. to 11a.m., Monday, prior to the service.
