Dorothy L. Bracken, 82, of Hayti, Mo., died Friday, June 20, 2008, at Hayti.
Born June 17, 1926, in Pemiscot County, Mo., daughter of the late Miles Cyrus and Eunice Agnus Boyd Stearns, she was employed at A.C. Delco for several years.
On Feb. 19, 1944, in Blytheville, Ark., she married William "Bill" Bracken, who preceded her in death on May 12, 1991. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Marjorie Russell and Marguirite Northcut.
Survivors include one daughter, Sharen Butcher and husband, Harold, of Hayti; two brothers, Cyrus and J.D. Stearns, both of Flint, Mich.; two sisters, Evilyn Borders, of Campbell, Mo., and Vivian Pritchett, of Springfield, Mo.; four grandchildren, Rick Gawthrop, of Hayti, Rob Butcher, of Kennett, Tim Butcher, of Flint and Brandi Mackey, of Campbell and seven great-grandchildren, Erika, Cody and Cameron Butcher, Aaron Gawthrop, Simon Brown and Savannah and Jay Mackey.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, June 24, at the John W. German Funeral Home Chapel in Hayti with Jeff Thomas officiating.
Burial was in the Woodlawn Cemetery at Hayti.
Pallbearers were Lawrence Chidester, Billy Wyatt, Leonard Plunkett, Ricky Gawthrop, and Tim and Rob Butcher.
