Kenneth C. Howard, 86, of Hattiesburg, Miss., formerly of Qulin, Mo., died Sunday, June 22, 2008, at Wesley Medical Center in Hattiesburg.

Born Dec. 11, 1921, in Clarkton, Mo., son of the late Cecil H. and Ruth Shelton Howard, he was a U.S. Air Force veteran, having served in WWII, a graduate of Clarkton High School and the University of Missouri. He was a teacher at Qulin High School and Three Rivers Community College, served as Director of Continuing Education and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Qulin.

On Sept. 8, 1946, in Clarkton, he married Mabel "Mert" Wiley, who survives.

Survivors also include one daughter, Jan Doyle and husband, Steve, of Hattiesburg; two sisters, Cecilia Stoelting, of Clarkton and Anne Brock, of Scott City, Mo.; one grandson, Chad Dahm, of Oxnard, Calif., and one great-granddaughter, Emily Dahm, of Oxnard.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Kloyce Howard.

Visitation will be from noon to 1 p.m., Thursday, June 26, at the Landess Funeral Home in Campbell, Mo.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, June 26, at the Landess Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Karl Kline officiating.

Burial will follow in the Qulin Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church in Qulin.
