Walter Mitchel Motes, 59, of Fredericktown, Mo., died Saturday, June 21, 2008, at his residence.
Born April 27, 1949, in Sledge, Mo., he was the son of the late Lonnie and Irene Motes.
On July 7, 1998, in Fredericktown, he married Annie Roark, who survives.
Survivors also include four children, Stephanie Mehaffy, of St. Louis, Mo., Shannon Motes, of Imperial, Mo., and April and Chris Finch, both of Fredericktown; six brothers, Johny Ray Motes, of Guntown, Miss., Clarence Motes, of Kansas City, Mo., Vernon Motes, of Springfield, Mo., Richard Motes, of Clarksdale, Miss., Wesley Motes, of Rector, Ark., and James Motes, of Cardwell, Mo., and one sister, Judy Whitworth, of Marmaduke, Ark.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Fred and Alfred Motes and one sister, Carolyn Sue Motes.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., today, Tuesday, June 24, at the McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel in Senath, Mo., with the Rev. Floyd Bailey officiating.
Burial was in the Cardwell Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Steven, Skeeter, Dacota and Allan Motes, Johnny Chamberlain, Brien Archer, Larry Whitworth, Jerry Wrather and Dennis Minton.
