Born Aug. 4, 1921, in Hunterville, Mo. son of the late Walter P. and Nona Thompson Bristow, he was in the Coast Guard during WWII and a teacher at Kennett School.
On Nov. 21, 1942, in Missouri, he married Dorothy Ruth Doggett, who survives.
Survivors also include one son, Walter David Bristow, of Senath, Mo.; five daughters, Dorothy Ellen Curtis, of Rector, Ark., Nona Faye Stone and Wanda Wenette Dearing, both of Kennett, Hazel Alene Bristow, of St. Peters, Mo., Lori Denise Hunt, of Paragould, Ark.; one sister, Lois Holland, of St. Louis, Mo., and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother and sister.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, June 25, in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery at Bloomfield, Mo.
Bradshaw Funeral Home of Kennett is in charge of arrangements.
