Esther Irene Anderson Barnes, 97, of Plano, Texas, formerly of Campbell, Mo., died Tuesday, June 10, 2008, at Centennial Medical Center in Frisco, Texas.
Born Feb. 4, 1911, in White Oak, Mo., daughter of the late J.A. and Avis Ray Anderson, she was co-owner of Barnes Appliance and Barnes Clothing Ready-to-Wear in Campbell. She was a member of the Campbell United Methodist Church, Campbell Woman's Club, Campbell Music Club, Campbell School P.T.A., Order of the Eastern Star and Rotary-Anns.
On May 9, 1931, in Holcomb, Mo., she married Roy Barnes, who preceded her in death on Dec. 12, 2003. She was also preceded in death by her step-mother, Mildred Anderson; three sisters, Ruth and Jewel Rollins and Laverne Watson and one brother, Ralph Anderson.
Survivors include one son, Bob Barnes and wife, Brenda, of Plano, Texas; one sister, Bonnie Henson and husband, Ken, of Kennett; two granddaughters, Becky High, of Plano and Bonnie Shepherd, of McKinney, Texas and four great-grandchildren, Morgan Ijames and Chase High, both of Plano and Tyler and Alex Shepherd, both of McKinney.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Friday, June 13, at the Landess Funeral Home in Campbell.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, June 14, at the Landess Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Fred Lewis officiating.
Burial will follow in the Stanfield Cemetery at Clarkton, Mo.
Memorials may be made to the Campbell United Methodist Church or St Jude Children's Hospital.
