Police reports indicate that, B.J. Gatewood of 1000 Zaida Avenue, noticed a white male, with short brown hair, approximately 6 ft., 170 lbs., was attempting to steal a generator out of the back of his truck.
The report states that, when Gatewood went outside to confront the man, he was attacked. Gatewood told police that the man assaulted him by punching him in the face and biting his fingers as he tried to subdue the man until the police could arrive.
Unfortunately, the man was able to escape from Gatewood. He is reported to have fled the scene in a white van, with a ladder rack.
The vehicle is expected to have out of state license plates, which are suspected to possibly be Nebraska plates.
