Mary Darlene Bush, 84, of Cape Girardeau, Mo., formerly of Portageville, Mo., died Tuesday, June 3, 2008, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
Born May 24, 1924, in Pemiscot County, Mo., daughter of the late Odell and Mattie Hawks Lawson, she was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.
On May 31, 1941, in the Stanley Community, she married Melvin H. Bush, who preceded her in death on Oct. 11, 2006. She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Carol Byrd and two brothers, Elwood and Ray Lawson.
Survivors include two daughters, Betty Underwood and husband, Joe, of Little Rock, Ark., and Barbara Leslie, of Jackson, Mo.; one son, Timmie Bush and wife, Cherrie, of Eldorado, Kan,; a son-in-law, Ronnie Byrd, of Ozark, Mo.; one sister, Lou Hildebrand, of Denver, Colo.; one brother, Richard Lawson, of Conran, Mo.; 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Sunday, June 8, at the John W. German Funeral Home in Hayti, Mo. with the Rev. Jimmy Johnson officiating.
Burial was in the Portageville Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Jeff Bush, Don Loyd, Ben and Ronnie Byrd, Joey Underwood and Stephen Leslie.
