Eric Lamont McThomas, 33, of Germantown, Tenn., died Friday, May 30, 2008, in Germantown.
Born July 14, 1974, in Flint, Mich., son of Lillie Tucker and the late Otto George, he was a 1992 graduate of Milwaukee Public School and completed two years of a Culinary Arts Program. He was a cook and a member of the Gloryland Church of God in Christ in Memphis, Tenn.
Survivors include one daughter, Tapanga Hollywood, of Kennett; three brothers, James E. McThomas, Jr., and wife, Keeshia, of St. Louis, Mo., Ronnie D. McThomas and wife, Debbie, of Mesa, Ariz., and Gregory A. McThomas and wife, Rachel, of Germantown; three sisters, Etoy and Tracey George, both of Flint, Mich., and Ebony George, of Germany; one step-sister, Kisha McGee and husband, Terrence, of Chicago, Ill.; his mother, Lillie Tucker, of Germantown; his step-father, James Earl McThomas, of Chicago; his grandmother, Opal Wells, of Flint and a special friend, Felicia Green, of Hayti, Mo.
He was preceded in death by a grandmother, Ella James Reed.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Saturday, June 7, at the Faith Temple Church of God in Christ in Hayti with Elders Samuel McNeal and Courtney Sanders officiating.
Burial was in the Evergreen Cemetery at Hayti.
Pallbearers were James E. McThomas Jr., Gregory A., and Ronnie D. McThomas, Jesse J. Jr., and Frank J. Hall and Andre Henderson.
Honorary pallbearers were James E. McThomas Sr., Terry George, Oggie and Theodore Hall, Fred Hall Sr., and Jesse J. Hall Sr.
John W. German Funeral Home of Hayti was in charge of arrangements.
