Calvin Author Bowman, 84, of Malden, Mo., died Sunday, June 1, 2008, at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, Mo.

Born Oct. 28, 1923, in Malden, son of the late Acy and Irene Sneed Bowman, he was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in WWII, and was employed at John Deere and Federal Mogul in Malden and Purolator Products in Dexter, Mo. He was a member of the American Legion in Campbell, Mo.

On Jan. 29, 1944, in Malden, he married Rose Laverle Pigman, who preceded him in death on Oct. 20, 2005. He was also preceded in death by one daughter, Janie Bowman and one brother, Benton Bowman.

Survivors include two daughters, Rhonda Rodgers and husband, Kenny, of Campbell and Tammy Bowman, of Malden; one son, Terry Bowman and wife, Charlene, of Campbell; one brother, Edward Bowman, of Malden; three sisters, Betty Jo Green, of Malden, Martha Teeters, of Pocahontas, Ark., and Nadine Trodaugh, of Kennett; 12 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m., today, Tuesday, June 3, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home Chapel in Malden with the Rev. Tim Russell officiating.

Burial was in the Memorial Park Cemetery at Malden.
