William Harold "Buddy" Phillips, 78, of Wardell, Mo., died Wednesday, May 28, 2008, at Pemiscot Memorial Hospital in Hayti, Mo.
Born Sept. 5, 1928, in Little Prairie Township, son of the late Harvey William and Bertha Lee Brown Phillips, he attended Wardell School. He was a farmer and of the Baptist faith.
On Dec. 23, 1954, in Hernando, Miss., he married Edith Faye Palmer, who survives.
Survivors also include four children, Gregg and Brett Phillips, both of Wardell, Tammy Hinkle, of Jonesboro, Ark., and Tina Babb, of Bragg City, Mo.; three sisters, Dorcie Arnold, Virginia Willoughby and Velma Harris; two brothers, Harvell and Arvell Phillips; 12 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by four sisters, Ora Burgess, Mattie Crafton, Patricia Roberts and Hazel Phillips.
Funeral services were held Friday, May 30, at Glass Memorial Baptist Church with Bros. Don Tims Jr. and Griff Walker officiating.
Burial was in the Wardell Memorial Cemetery.
H.S. Smith Funeral Home in Caruthersville, Mo. was in charge of arrangements.
