Born Jan. 12, 1922, in Malden, son of the late James Albert and Missie Quinn Gulledge, he was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in WWII, And was employed at Federal Mogul in Malden. He was a member of the Bootheel Antique Car Club in Caruthersville, Mo.
On Nov. 30, 1953, in Mississippi, he married Billie Virginia Holyfield, who preceded him in death on July 28, 2006. He was also preceded in death by one son, Jerry DeWayne Gulledge; a son who died in infancy; four brothers, Charles, Donald, Lawrence and Vick Gulledge and two sisters, Nellie Turman and Isabella Donica.
Survivors include one son, Bob Gulledge and wife, Trish, of St. Louis, Mo.; two daughters, Debbie Esterline and husband, Ray, of Dixon, Mo., and Joannie Campbell and husband, Brent, of St. Louis; two sisters, Cora Jane Dillick, of ST. Louis and Madell Bryant, of Malden; seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Monday, May 26, at the Landess Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Earnest Puckett officiating.
Burial was in the Memorial Park Cemetery at Malden.
