I received a press advisory from the office of Claire McCaskill last week that said the Senator would fulfill a long-held dream -- of her teenage daughter. What is that dream? To appear on The Colbert Report.
The Colbert Report is on Comedy Central. McCaskill will appear on the show, according to the press release I received, at 10:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 28.
The Colbert Report is a parody of news programs and political punditry that stars Stephen Colbert, who might not appear as "egotistical" as Rush Limbaugh but close, and both are funny.
Actually, I do not think either of the men is egotistical; they're just good at making others think they are and getting "under the skin" of those who might disagree with them. Also, both are good at parody and political punditry.
McCaskill said in the press release sent to me by her office, "There are few things in this world that make my daughter laugh the way The Colbert Report does. With her birthday coming up soon, it seemed like a unique gift to have her come with me to laugh at Stephen Colbert making fun of her mom. I'm not sure what I've gotten myself into, but at least she won't forget her 19th birthday."
I do watch The Colbert Report often. It is funny! I'm impressed that Senator McCaskill is going to appear on the program and can't wait to see it.
Incidentally, another person who recently appeared on the program and was really good on the show with Colbert was Mike Huckabee.
