Gayle Summers, 60, of Junction City, Kan., died May 12, 2008, at North Kansas City Hospital .
Born Nov. 6, 1947, in Gideon, Mo., daughter of Louise Tolbert and the late J.W. Tolbert. She graduated in 1965 from Gideon High School and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Tallapoosa, Mo. She was involved with Jaycees, Beta Sigma Phi and PEO, she also owned and operated a ladies dress shop, and worked at Geary County Hospital.
On May 1, 1966, she married John Summers, who survives.
Survivors also include two daughters, Kristi Knoth, of Kansas City, Mo., and Stephanie Culver and husband, Chuck, of Junction City, Kan.; a son-in-law, Kurt Knoth, of Kansas City; her mother, Louise Tolbert, of Malden, Mo.; two brothers, Lee Tolbert and wife, Barb and Jack Tolbert and wife, Phyllis, all of Gideon; two sisters, Tammy Corder and husband, Jack ,of Jefferson City, Mo., and Sandy Murphy and husband, Harold, of Little Rock, Ark., and five grandchildren, Dylan, Jesse and Kalli Knoth, all of Kansas City, and Austin and Chase Culver, both of Junction City
She was preceded in death by one brother, Duke Tolbert and her grandparents, Roy and Matilda Swann and James W. and Ida Mae Tolbert.
Visitation will begin at 10 a.m., Saturday, May 24, at the Spoonerville Baptist Church.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, May 24, at the Spoonerville Baptist Church with the Rev. Richard Blagg officiating
