City Clerk Erma Branum said the meeting, which is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m., will be the first of what is hoped to be a continuous schedule of Thursday meetings, once discussed by Arbyrd's board of aldermen.
"A proposal was made to either start holding our city council meetings on the first or third Thursday of each month, versus the second Tuesday," Branum said.
Also on Thursday's agenda is the discussion of State Traffic regulations as listed under Chapter 304, as well as a model ordinance the city could pass as specified in city ordinance Chapter 300.
Branum said there are two guests who are on the agenda, one being Greg Hulett, who will be addressing the council regarding all-terrain vehicles, and the other being Zana Higgins, regarding a legal matter.
Other items on the agenda to be discussed include:
* The restrooms at the city's park, as well as those at the ball park.
* Hearing a detailed report from Chief of Police Mitch Skelton, on the Police department's activities for the month of April through present;
* Hearing from Fire Chief Derrick Higgins on the fire department's activities for the month of April through present.
