Marceline "Homer" Laster, 73, of Kennett, formerly of Hayti, Mo., died Thursday, May 8 at Kennett.
Born April 29, 1935 in Dunklin County, the daughter of the late James Ivy and Lillian Henson Helton, she was formerly employed at Quality Cleaners in Hayti as a presser.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Marion and Delane Helton.
Survivors include a son, Stevie Joe Hobbs of Steele, Mo.; four grandchildren, Kimberly Smith and Tina Owens of Kennett, Christopher Hobbs of Whiteman Air Force Base, Mo., and Amy Lynn Hobbs of Essex, Mo.; five great grandchildren; one brother, Julius Helton of Kennett; four sisters, Louise Barton and Ann Shelton of Kennett, Arlice Storey of Chicago, Ill., and Cathy Higgins of Independence, Mo.; and a step-sister, Reba Tate of Ridgely, Tenn.
Funeral services were held Saturday, May 10 in the John W. German Funeral Home Chapel at Hayti with Larry Gargus officiating.
Burial was in the McDaniel Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Kennett.
Pallbearers were Christopher Hobbs, Johnny Darnell, Greg Brown, Luther Jackson, Larry Amerson and Jason Hurst.
John W. German Funeral Home of Hayti was in charge of services.
