Crime Victim's Week
Tuesday, May 6, 2008

| |
National Crime Victim's Week was proclaimed by the President of the United States as an opportunity to underscore society's commitment to protecting the rights of crime victims and to recognize those who bring hope and healing to these individuals and their families. Dunklin County Prosecuting Attorney Stephen Sokoloff, left, and Cassie Duncan review material from No More Trash, an effort in Missouri to collect trash along highways, streams, and other public areas throughout the state. Law enforcement officials in the county have adopted a section of Missouri highway so that those who have created victims of crime can serve the community by picking up some of the trash along public right-of-ways. Adopt-A-Highway workers provide $1 million worth of litter pickup every year. Staff photo by Jack Rollins
