Merideth reappointed to Soil and Water Districts Commission

Sunday, May 4, 2008
JEFFERSON CITY -- State Sen. Rob Mayer, R-Dexter, Friday announced that the Senate has approved the reappointment of Baughn Merideth, Sr., to the State Soil and Water Districts Commission.

The commission administers the state's soil and water conservation districts and formulates policies and general programs for saving Missouri soil and water.

"Baughn Merideth is a longtime farmer whose wealth of experience will continue to be invaluable to the State Soil and Water Districts Commission," Sen. Mayer said.

Merideth is the co-owner and manager of Merideth Farms, Inc., in Caruthersville and a Missouri Farm Bureau insurance agent. He is a graduate of Southeast Missouri State University with a bachelor's degree in agriculture.

Currently, he is a member of the University of Missouri Delta Center Advisory Board and a member of the Caruthersville school board.
