Iris Wilkey Sheehan, 99, of Malden, Mo., died Thursday, May 1, 2008, at her residence.
Born Sept. 12, 1908, in Gideon, Mo., daughter of the late Arch William and Maude Sarff Wilkey, she was a school teacher and guidance counselor at Dexter High School. She was a member of the First Untted Methodist Church in Malden.
On April 2, 1927, in Marion, Ark., she married Mart Sheehan, who preceded her in death on Nov. 29, 1972. She was also preceded in death by one son, Keith Sheehan; one brother, Ralph Wilkey; one sister, Madge Camp; a daughter-in-law, Irene Sheehan, and one half-brother, Harold Wilkey.
Survivors include 10 nieces, Marilyn Wilkey Merritt, of Arlington, Va., Debroah Wilkey Noah, of Harrisburg, Ill., Cathy Wilkey Bell, of Kennett, Heather Wilkey Gilbert, of Campbell, Calif., Iris Lee Camp McNeer, of Chattanooga, Tenn., Kay Camp and Gloria Wilkey Mueller, both of Cape Girardeau, Connie Wilkey Hutcraft, of Dexter, and Janet Wilkey Cowley and Joyce Wilkey Link, both of St. Louis, Mo.; three nephews, William Sewell Wilkey, of West Chester, Pa., Harold Wilkey, of Buffalo, Mo., and Kenneth Wilkey, of Miami, Fla., and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m., Saturday, May 3, at the Landess Funeral Home in Malden.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, May 3, in the Park Cemetery at Malden with the Rev. Greg Dowler officiating.
Memorials may be made to the VNA Hospice or the First United Methodist Church in Malden.
