For those who had their federal returns direct deposited, this additional cash will come sooner.
For married couples or joint filers, the payment will be based on the social security number of the person listed first on the joint return.
For tax payers who filed single, they can look to receive around $600. Married couples who filed a joint return can look to get close to $1,200, with an extra $300 for each qualifying dependent child.
According to the IRS Stimulus Payment Schedule, those who had their federal tax return direct deposited, with the last two digits of their SSN from 00 through 20, will have their stimulus check deposited no later than today, Friday, May 2.
Those with the last two digits of 21 through 75, should receive the payment no later than Friday, May 9, and for numbers 76 through 99, the money will be direct deposited no later than Friday, May 16.
Taxpayers who had their federal tax return checks mailed to them, payments will also start according to the last two digits of the primary filer's Social Security number.
For Social Security numbers ending 00 through 09, paper checks will start being mailed on May 9 and continue through May 16.
Numbers 10 through 18, checks will be mailed out no later than May 23; 19 through 25, no later than May 30; 26 through 38, no later than June 6; 39 through 51, no later than June 13; 52 through 63, no later than June 20; 64 through 75, no later than June 27; 76 through 87, no later than July 4; and numbers 88 through 99, checks will be sent out no later than July 11.
For those who filed their taxes after the April 15 deadline, stimulus payments will be issued, but they will be nearly two weeks behind this schedule.
The IRS warns that in order to receive a stimulus payment, taxes must be filed by Oct. 15, 2008.
