Maxine Middleton, 88, of Montgomery City, Mo., formerly of Kennett, died Wednesday, April 23, 2008, at New Florence Nursing Center.
Born April 29, 1919, in Caruth, Mo., she was the daughter of the late Edgar R. and Dora Wilfong Nugent.
On Aug. 27, 1946, in Piggott, Ark., she married Orville Middleton, who preceded her in death on Oct. 9, 1998. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Henry David and Olin Glen Nugent and three sisters, Lela Phillips, Ann King and Gladys Palmer.
Survivors include one son, Alan Middleton and wife, Denise, of Rector, Ark.; one daughter, Karen Frederick and husband, Sam, of Columbia, Mo.; two sisters, Wilma Jean Smith, of Kennett and Wanda Parrish, of Troy, Mo.; two grandchildren, Erika Middleton, of Rector and Kyle Barnett, of Tuscon, Ariz. and two great-grandchildren, Rebecca and Victoria Barnett, both of Tuscon.
Graveside services were held at 1 p.m., today, Friday, April 25, in the Memorial Gardens Cemetery at Kennett with the Rev. Dale Rickman officiating.
McDaniel Funeral Home of Kennett was in charge of arrangements.
