Nominations may be made by anyone who has knowledge of a nominee's exceptional accomplishments and who has completed the nomination forms available at all county libraries and online. To be considered for induction into the Hall of Honor, Minton said, individuals must be or have been citizens of Dunklin County and have distinguished themselves within their occupation, trade, or field of endeavor, through intellectual, creative, humanitarian and professional accomplishments.
"The honorees should have strong ties to the Dunklin County community," Minton said. "They should also have displayed outstanding personal achievement and contributions to the growth and development of the area."
This year will celebrate the sixth year of the induction ceremony that is held within the Dunklin County Library's main branch at Kennett.
Since 2003, the committee has inducted 109 individuals into the hall of honor.
The Dunklin County Hall of Honor Committee, composed of members throughout the county, will accept nominations for consideration until Aug. 1, 2007.
Nomination forms may be picked up at any library branch but must be returned to the main branch located at 209 North Main Street at Kennett.
Due to space constraints, the library is now forced to limiting the number of people inducted each year. I the committee is overwhelmed with qualifying nominations, dates of submission will be a factor in determining who will be selected.
Although the date of submission is not the only factor the committee looks at, the sooner the nomination is received the better for the committee to make an informed
