Opal Kilen

Opal Kilen, 90, of Doniphan, Mo., died Monday, April 14, 2008, at St. Peters Manor Care Center in St. Peters, Mo.

Born March 11, 1918, in Gatewood, Mo., daughter of the late James and Blanche Lamb Pippin, she was employed at Bussman Fuse Company.

On July 1, 1937, in Doniphan, she married Curt Kilen, who preceded her in death on Nov. 18, 2001. She was also preceded in death by five sisters, Mae Todd, Fannie Lawson, Carrie Bounds, Margaret Parks and Iwilda Alderson and three brothers, Will, Henry and Paul Pippin.

Survivors include three sons, J.C. Kilen and wife, Jo Ann, of St. Charles, Mo.; James Kilen, of Kansas City, Mo., and Kenneth Kilen and wife, Carol, of St. Peters; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Friday, April 18, at the Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, April 19, at the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Denny Brown officiating.

Burial will follow in the Antioch Cemetery.
