Ida Mae Abbott Clark, 85, of Cottonwood Point, Mo., died Saturday, April 5, 2008, at the Golden Living Center in New Madrid, Mo.
Born April 19, 1922, in Cottonwood Point, daughter of Jesse David Abbott and Vernie Nile Potter Abbott, she was co-owner of a grocery store and a member of the Cottonwood Point Baptist Church.
In August of 1939, she married D.L. Clark, who preceded her in death in February of 2000. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Edward and Joseph "Joe" Abbott.
Survivors include three children, Dorsey Clark and wife, Brenda, of Mountain Grove, Mo., Peggy Knipper and husband, Adrian, of Jackson, Tenn., and Phyllis Dean and husband, Robert, of Apopka, Fla.; four grandchildren, Kevin Knipper, Rhonda Wilson, Andrea Dean VanScoyoc and Robert Clark Dean; five great-grandchildren, Jonathan and Chelsea Knipper and Joshua, Katie and Clark Dean and five step-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Monday, April 7, at the H.S. Smith Funeral Home in Caruthersville, Mo., with Dr. Adrian Knipper officiating.
Burial was in the Pemiscot Memorial Gardens Cemetery at Caruthersville.
Pallbearers were Kevin and Jonathan Knipper, Robert Dean, Marvin Linsman and Mike and Brian Abbott.
Honorary pallbearers were Chelsea Knipper, Rhonda Wilson and Andrea Dean VanScoyoc.
