Mattie Madelyn Gardner, 90, of Kennett, died Sunday, March 30, 2008, at Kennett.
Born Aug. 1, 1917, in Steele, Mo., daughter of the late Tobe and Sallie Nail Johnson Baugh, she was a member of the First Baptist Church in Kennett.
On Feb. 24, 1934, she married Almer Clyde Gardner, who preceded her in death on Nov. 22, 2002. She was also preceded in death by one brother, Olan Johnson and one sister, Mildred Sims.
Survivors include one son, Dr. Donald Ray Gardner and wife, Martha Ann, of Charleston, S.C.; two daughters, Alma Jeanne Sweeney and husband, Bud, of Kennett, and Karen Jo Bates and husband, Wayne, of Murray, Ky.; eight grandchildren, Marla Wood, Beth Way, Greg Gardner, Dr. Jeff Gardner, Dr. Danny Gardner, LeAnn Gardner, Jennifer Gilbert and Catherine Bates and 11 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., today, Wednesday, April 2, at the McDaniel Funeral Home in Kennett.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, April 3, at the McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ed Jansson officiating.
Burial will follow in the Memorial Gardens Cemetery at Kennett.
Pallbearers are Jacob and Mark Way, Rick Wood, and Jeff, Danny and Greg Gardner.
Honorary pallbearers are Maurice Wallace, C.M. Smith and Cloyce Ray.
