Willie Oakley

Willie B. Oakley (Mimi), 87, a resident of Kennett for 30 years, passed away Tuesday, April 1, 2008, at the Heritage Nursing Center in Kennett.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Allen Oakley, in 1978. For 40 years they were successful farmers in Deering, Mo.

Mrs. Oakley is survived by three daughters, Betty Sheets, of Crystal River, Fla., Alice Perley, of Jacksonville, Fla., and Carolyn Edgington, of Kennett; one sister, Sybil Gill, of Murray, Ky.; six grandchildren, Richard Edgington III, of Kennett, Amy Edgington Bowen, of Bowling Green, Ky., Emily Sheets, of Sarasota, Fla., James Perley, Jr., of Fairfax, Va., Brent Perley, of Round Hill, Va., and Trent Perley, of Broadland, Va., and eight great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Oakley was known to all as an extraordinarily kind lady who dedicated her life to her family.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, April 4, at the First Christian Church in Kennett.

McDaniel Funeral Home of Kennett is in charge of arrangements.
