According to Dunklin County Prosecuting Attorney, Stephen P. Sokoloff, Joe Lemons, 48, was apprehended in the summer on a city failure to appear warrant, after fleeing from officers.
Once apprehended, officers located several rocks of crack cocaine in Lemons' possession.
The case was sent to New Madrid, with the state being represented by Sokoloff and Assistant Prosecuting Attorney for Dunklin County, Jonce B. Chidister.
Lemons was represented by Charles Hirth of the Public Defenders Office.
The two charges Lemons was convicted of during his trial included a class B felony count for the drugs found in his possession with intent to sell, and a class A misdemeanor charge for resisting arrest by the Kennett Police Department.
