Marshall Eugene Jarrett, Jr., 84, of Memphis, Tenn., formerly of Kennett, died Friday, March 28, 2008, at Memphis Jewish Home.

Born July 5, 1923, in Cardwell, Mo., son of the late Marshall Eugene and Elizabeth Anna Cockrum Jarrett, he was a U.S. Navy veteran, having served in WWII and a member of the Masonic Lodge No. 368 in Paragould, Ark.

On Dec. 2, 1973, in Kennett, he married Zeb Garrett, who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Wayne and Hermond Jarrett and a daughter-in-law, Diana Jarrett.

Survivors include three sons, Bill Jarrett, of Paragould, Herman Jarrett and wife, Brenda, of Ft. Smith, Ark., and Mark Jarrett and wife, Lisa, of Viola, Ark., one step-son, Allen Garrett and wife, Shirley, of Kennett; one step-daughter, Barbara Bronze and husband, Jeff, of Memphis.; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Wednesday, April 2, at the McDaniel Funeral Home in Kennett.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, April 2, at the McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Charles James officiating.

Burial will follow in the Cardwell Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Tim Jarrett, Scott Gatlin, Tim Brennan, Bo Allen, Leroy Woodhouse and Ron Lewallen.

Honorary pallbearers are Dallas Allen, Alfred Holbrook, Bob Holder, J.R. Early, Dr. Maynard Sisler and Dr. Graham Warr.
