Sidney Allen Rainey, 71, of Bloomfield, Mo., formerly of Dexter, Mo., died Sunday, March 30, 2008, at the Golden Living Center in Bloomfield.
Born Dec. 20, 1936, in Holcomb, Mo., son of Willie "Bill" and Opal Dye Rainey, he was owner of a trucking company and a member of Sweet Prospect General Baptist Church in Dexter.
On May 1, 1955, in Hernando, Miss., he married Shirley James, who survives.
Survivors also include four sons, Jim Rainey, of Advance, Mo., Steve Rainey, of Wentzville, Mo., Earl Rainey, of Bloomfield and Larry Rainey, of Zalma, Mo.; 13 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one brother.
Visitation will be form 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., today, Tuesday, April 1, at the Morgan Funeral Home in Advance.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, April 2, at the Morgan Funeral Home.
Burial will follow in the Morgan Memorial Park Cemetery at Advance.
