Tell us Kid what you believe would be the difference in our economy if Dunklin County elected Republicans instead of Democrats.

Oh yeah, and P.S. Shorty. I don't have a son and probably don't know your son. You have trouble sleeping at night because he is serving his country and I appreciate that. But sometimes I can't sleep at night knowing that my kids will have to leave Dunklin County to get a job and have a decent life. I also worry about them being blown to hell by some crazy extremist muslim that was allowed to operate wherever they want. Life is about more than how much you hate Bush, disagree with this war for Halliburton or whatever trash you all make up today. Without safety, we have nothing. And right now, my point is that there is no opportunity in the Bootheel, because they've done things the same way since statehood.

That's exactly right shorty. I mean look at the success they've had in Dunklin County and the rest of the Bootheel. Inner city St. Louis is booming, isn't it? Oops, nobody wants to live there either. In five years or less all of Dunklin will look like Clarkton. Wait . . . it already does. No jobs, no standard of living, just corrupt Democrat officials that already have theirs. Blame Bush for everything. Keep doing it the same way since the beginning of time. Meanwhile, West Plains, Poplar Bluff, Cape Girardeau, Springfield and Kansas City will continue to prosper. But by God at least you'll be Democrat.

At least the people in Dunklin County have enough sense to vote Democratic. Look at the mess the whole country is in for voting Republican. Look at the lives that have been lost just because one Republican want to finish what his father started and he didn't finish it he just made it worse. Let him send your son over there in harms way and see how you like the worry and sleepless nights wondering if he will come home in the same whole body he left in. I know cause I have been there.

Oh how wrong you are br549. I've lived in Dunklin County all of my life. I have no axe to grind, I like both Shawnee and Mr. Holder. I didn't say anything negative about them. However, you make a really intelligent observation that them' der' Republicans don't get elected in Dunklin County. You're right! The politicians realize that the masses in Dunklin County are too uneducated to actually vote Republican. There for, they only have one option. We've been oppressed by the Democrat Party since statehood in 1821. That's the point I'm making. If you read something else . . . that's your fault. You must have been a life long resident too. Dunklin County schools, aren't they great? At least two people had the courage to try and lead the in-bred sheep in the right direction.

It seems that "thekid" has an axe to grind. If he were minimally familiar with Dunklin County, or the Bootheel for that matter, he would know that Republicans don't get elected in Dunklin County, unless she is Jo Ann Emerson. Shawnee is a fine governmental employee; so is Bob Holder. Maybe "thekid" needs to make a change in where he lives.

Interesting to see Shawnee Trowbridge file as a Democrat. I guess she figures that the people of Dunklin County are not smart enough to vote Republican. Well, Bob Holder switched why not? Since 1821, there have been a handful of Republican candidates. Why would Dunklin County change? Look at all the prosperity that is abounding in Dunklin County under Democrat rule.
