Mable Mullins

Mable Irene Mullins was born Dec. 27, 1923, at Holcomb, Mo. She departed this life March 23, 2008. On Nov. 8, 1941, she married William Thomas "W.T." Mullins, who passed away on Feb. 14, 1970. They had four sons, Larry, Gaylon, Jack and Kim. During the formative years of her sons' lives, she was a devoted mother and homemaker. After her husband's death, she operated a carpet store and was later employed in the dietary department of the Dunklin County Memorial Hospital for 10 years. She was a member of the Church of Christ.

Mable was the daughter of John Calvin Evans and Cordy Ray Evans. She had seven siblings; five brothers, Woodrow, Walter, J.C., Adon and Johnny and twin sisters, Eula Evans Wainscott and Bula Evans Ivy. All of her siblings preceded her in death.

Mable leaves behind four sons, Larry and wife, Barbara, of Kennett, Gaylon and wife, Carolyn, of Kennett, Jack and wife, Donna, of Fredricksburg, Va., and Kim and wife, Theresa Mullins, of Yorktown, Va.; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., today, Tuesday, March 25, at the McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel in Kennett with Spencer Furby officiating.

Burial was in the Stanfield Cemetery at Clarkton, Mo.

Family members served as pallbearers.

Memorials may be made to the Slicer Street Church of Christ American Cancer Relay For Life Team or the Childrens' Home in Paragould, Ark.
