He was born August 2, 1940, at Swift, Mo., and was the son of the late Buddy and Drusella Richardson Lacey. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, was a member of the General Baptist faith, and a member of Masonic Lodge No. 64 at Kennett.
He was married to Faye Chamblin on Sept. 14, 1957, at Peach Orchard, Mo. She survives.
Other survivors include one son, Christopher Lacey of Malden; four daughters, Evone Whittenberg of Caruthersville, Mo., Peggy Brewington of Gideon, Judy Higgins of Gideon, and Theresa Moore of Gideon; two brothers, William Lacey of Poplar Bluff, Mo. and Roy Lacey of Poplar Bluff; two sisters, Jeanette Byford of Franklin, Tenn. and Vallaree Foster of Houston, Texas; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one infant son; one infant daughter; one brother, Dennis Lacey; and two sisters, Ruth Ann Vandiver and Frances Blake.
Visitation was at 6 p.m., Saturday, March 22, 2008, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home at Gideon.
The funeral service is at 2 p.m., Sunday, March 23, 2008, at the Bradshaw Chapel with the Rev. Phillip Bartholomew officiating.
Burial will follow at the Stanfield Cemetery at Clarkton, Mo.
