Harold Dean Aikens, Sr., 59, died Tuesday, March 11, 2008, at his residence.

Born July 8, 1948, in Gary, Ind., he was the son of Mary Sargent Aikens and the late Leotis Aikens, Sr.

Survivors include one son, Harold Dean Aikens, Jr., of Springfield, Mo.; three daughters, Elaine Ellen Aikens, of Gary, Crystal L. Franklin, of Indianapolis, Ind., and Almasheau Jeanaye Aikens, of Malden; his mother, Mary Aikens, of Malden; five brothers, Leroy Aikens and wife, Gail, of Las Vegas, Nev., Leotis Aikens, Jr., and wife, Doris, Alvin Aikens and wife, Dorothy, and Jeffery Morgan Aikens, all of Malden and Anthony Aikens and wife, Lois, of Kennett; six sisters, Betty Jean Bell and husband, William, Vernita Driver, Elaine Aikens and Maggie Cooper and husband, Darryl, all of Gary, Juliette Jamerson, of Elkhart, Ind., and Mary Ellen Aikens, of Malden; six grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will begin at 6 p.m., today, Friday, March 14, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home in Malden.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, March 15, at the Malden Community Church with the Rev. Otis L. Hawes, Jr. officiating.

Burial will follow in the Macedonia Cemetery at Malden.
