Cecil Copeland

Cecil Copeland, 86, of Leachville, Ark., died Tuesday, March 11, 2008, at his residence.

Born in Light, Ark., son of the late Charley and Sarah Henson Copeland, he was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in WWII. He was employed at the Leachville and Arbyrd Compress and was a member of the Church of God in Leachville.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Kincaid Fleeman Copeland, of the home; four sons, Johnny Copeland, of Dundee, Fla., Gary Copeland, of Auberndale, Fla., Jimmy Fleeman, of Leachville and Tommy Fleeman, of Selma, Calif.; six daughters, Mary Ruth Watson and Debbie Black, both of Texarkana, Ark., Helen Wiseman, of Arbyrd, Mo., Gean Rountree, of Manila, Ark., Norma Stacy, of Leachville and Carolyn Robertson, of Osceola, Ark.; one sister, Mattie Thomas, of Waycross, Ga.; 31 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by four sons, Kenneth Copeland, Lewis Brinkley, Jimmy Woods and J.B. Fleeman; three brothers and one sister.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., today, Thursday, March 13, at the Howard Funeral Home in Leachville.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, March 14, at the Howard Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. B.R. Miller officiating.

Burial will follow in the Manila Cemetery.
