Stanley Rouse

Stanley Rouse, 65, of Dyersburg, Tenn., formerly of Kennett, died Friday, March 7, 2008 at Vanderbilt University Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee.

Born April 28, 1942 in Kennett, son of the late Jesse and Cora Pruett Rouse, he was a U.S. Navy veteran.

On Dec. 20, 1961, he married Sandra Kay Benson, who survives.

Survivors also include one daughter Shelia Rouse Kelly, of Dyersburg; one brother Jim Rouse, of Rockford, Ill.; two sisters, Verna Jean Shepard of Senath, Mo., and Irma Miller of Kennett and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by one son, Ronnie David Rouse; three sisters, Patsy Rouse, Barbara Roland and Donna Verble and two brothers, Jesse and Donald Rouse.

Funeral services were held at 3 p.m., today, Tuesday, March 11 at McDaniel Funeral Home in Kennett with the Rev. Kenny Chessor officiating.

Burial was in the Oak Ridge Cemetery at Kennett.

Pallbearers were Ronnie Williams, Mark Hoskins, Jim Pelts, Johnny Stewart, Mike Smith, Jerry Neighbors and Chris Rimel.

Honorary pallbearers were Johnny Alsup, Kenneth "Tink" Cude, Bill Woodall, Tommy Masterson, William Atkins, Bill Heinen and Walter Dearing.
